Mark 5:28
for she said, if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole
When describing the condition of the woman in Mark 5, some versions of the bible use the term “hemorrhage” of blood, while other translations call it a “flow” of blood. However, I personally appreciate the King James Version having called it an “issue” of blood (for we all have issues). And this woman represents us all. She had a problem that none of her own efforts, nor the efforts of the world, could solve. Her condition rendered her stained, socially unacceptable, ashamed and religiously unclean. Yet in her desperation she heard of Jesus Christ, and believed that if she could just get to him – simply touch him - she would be healed. No matter our issue, we must find the faith to “touch the hem of his garment”. To somehow see his face, his hand and his will in our circumstances. Then we too can be made whole.
